Walden Park

2628 Oak Road near CCWD Canal Walnut Creek, California 94596, United States

Walden Park, situated at the intersection of the Contra Costa Canal Trail and the Iron Horse Trail, is a fantastic little park. It has (relatively) clean toilets, a water fountain, and a small playground with swings for kids, picnic tables, a basketball court, and a great spot for wall balls. There isn’t enough grass to play a complete game of soccer or football, but there are enough pockets for catch. It’s a small park, but it’s easy to find and offers a fun family atmosphere.

This is a wonderful park for people of all ages and interests to visit; there is a disc golf course, a basketball court and playground, and plenty of open grass for playing a variety of games with family and friends!

The Disk Golf court is a brand new addition to the park that many guests enjoy, and the course is in excellent shape and very spacious.

Parks are great places to explore.

A disc golf course links the park to the Iron Horse Trail.

The play structure is only interesting for tiny tots, but the grassy area is more appealing to adults and teenagers, so it tends to be more of a community park.

On busy Oak Rd, Walden Park is an urban park. The park is bordered on the back by an elementary school. The park is huge, but the playground is off to the side, small, and unfenced.

The play area is coated with both sand and tanbark. There are two play structures: one is shaped like a house with pulleys for digging, and the other is shaped like a fort. Both play structures have walk-up areas, allowing disabled people to access them without having to negotiate the rough sand.

A short walking path and a basketball court are also available at the park. There’s a steady buzz of cars in the background because it’s near the highway. The parking lots are small, but there is street parking nearby. You can also walk or ride over the canal trail.

  • Arbolado Park
