Shell Ridge is a hiking trail in Walnut Creek, California with great views of the bay. The entrance to this 4-mile round trip was just off Rockspring Place and takes an average hiker two hours to complete!

The Rockspring Place trail entrance may be the most scenic hike in Walnut Creek. The trail can be accessed by taking Shell Ridge Rd off of Ygnacio Valley Road and turning right across from Rock Springs Elementary School. It features sweeping views of the surrounding hills and valleys, as well as a convenient location for those looking for a quick bite to eat after their walk at Cafe Amore on N Broadway in downtown Walnut Creek!

Rockspring Place trail entrance – Shell Ridge is known for its amazing weather and scenic trails, The hike was one of the most interesting ones because it has so many different types of terrain. It is really fun to explore! You will also learn about the cultural significance this area has for Native Americans that makes you even more thankful for an amazing place like this.

 

 

Hiking shoes, your phone for taking pictures, a hat or sunglasses, water, and snacks if you have them. Wear clothes that are comfortable for hiking and according to the weather. You may also want a first aid kit in case there is an emergency! Be safe and always hike with a friend.

The Rockspring Place trail entrance is a short, scenic hike near Walnut Creek. It can be accessed by taking Shell Ridge Rd off of Ygnacio Valley Road in the city of Walnut Creek. The trail entrance is on the right-hand side of Shell Ridge Rd across from Rock Springs Elementary School. This location features sweeping views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
