Heather Farm Community Center

301 N San Carlos Drive, Walnut Creek, California 94598, United States

The Heather Farm Community Center is conveniently situated in the heart of Heather Farm Park, just off Ygnacio Valley Road. This lakeside venue includes banquet seating for up to 200 guests, a full commercial kitchen, and a large outdoor patio/deck.

The 102-acre park, hidden behind a hill on the outskirts of Walnut Creek, is a sanctuary of shade trees, green grass, and flower gardens. The picnic and nature areas are linked to the swim center, tennis courts, and athletic fields by meandering paths. With groves of trees and meadows separating the facilities, it’s almost as if each location were its own park. Heather Farm Community Center is nestled in one of the most picturesque of these spots.

The Lakeside Place, which overlooks a large pond, is where wedding receptions are held at the center. The wraparound deck that stretches out over the water is one of our favorite features of this place. Guests will enjoy an unobstructed view of ducks and geese swimming between the two large fountains that aerate the man-made lagoon when they take a stroll out here. Sycamores, oaks, and pepper trees shade the vast lawns on the opposite coast, forming a protective shield around the middle. Some couples are so taken with the scenery that they chose to have their wedding ceremony on the deck and reception inside.

The pond and fountains can also be seen from the Lakeside Room thanks to the big windows that run the length of two walls. The coffered ceiling adds to the space, which is warmed by the fireplace nook, where friends and family can toast the bride and groom. For those who want to keep their reception plain, the space is pretty and unpretentious and needs very little decorating. The reservation includes banquet and round tables, as well as folding chairs; the atmosphere, whether casual or elegant, is entirely up to you.

You won’t have to worry about keeping your reception private in the middle of a park, either. The entrance to the Lakeside Room is concealed from the rest of the park by tall bushes and trees, and the community center is locked to the public while you party the day or night away.

Heather Farms Community Center has a park as well, with a playground, picnic tables, and other facilities. That area is completely separate from the lake area, so it will have no impact on your case. Plus, if they have an event at Lakeside/hall, they can obviously fence it off to the general public. In other words, Heather Farms is unlikely to close the Park side, even though an event is taking place at the Lakeside/hall.
